Bally Bet is the sportsbook for every fan. Here, we pride ourselves on offering betting odds for a huge A-Z of sports – even those that some might consider niche.
Lacrosse is a popular sport across the country as well as further field, so we thought it was only right to provide betting markets and lines for the sport’s key leagues and competitions.
In this article, we’ll to take a deep dive into all things lacrosse betting. You’ll learn how to read lacrosse betting lines, the most popular bet types, and find tips to maximize the potential for success of your lacrosse wagers.
When you bet on a lacrosse tournament such as the National Lacrosse League or Premier Lacrosse League, there are typically two broad categories of wagers that you can choose from: game betting and futures.
Reading the betting lines for both is essentially the same, although it’s likely that the odds will be presented in slightly different ways – more on that shortly.
First, we cannot stress how important it is to be able to read odds when learning how to bet on lacrosse. Not only will this help you to understand what it is you’re actually betting on, it will also help you to decide when to bet (i.e. when your selections represent good value).
Let’s take a look at the game-by-game lacrosse betting. We’ll stick with moneyline betting for now.
You’ll see lines that look a little like this:
• Buffalo Bandits (-200)
• Albany FireWolves (+150)
Here we have a clear favorite (Buffalo) indicated by the minus odds lines, and an outsider as confirmed by their positive odds line (Albany).
With negative odds, the number dictates how much you need to wager in order to win $100. So, you’d have to bet $200 on Buffalo to win $100 in profit (and get your stake back, too).
It’s worth remembering that you don’t have to bet $200. This is just a way to easily work out the payout calculation. You could bet $20 (to win $10), $2 (to win $1), or even $1 (to win $0.50) or any other amount you want.
For odds against bets (positive odds lines), the calculation is slightly different. Here, the number reveals how much you would be paid out for a winning $100 wager. So, in the example above, if you backed Albany and they won, you would be paid $150 (as well as getting back your $100 stake).
Again, you don’t need to stake $100 if you don’t want to. You can wager any amount, but this is the ratio you’d use to calculate your potential payout.
With futures lines, these general rules apply, too. But for the most part, all of the teams will have positive odds lines – the smaller the number, the more fancied they are to win the league or tournament.
• Utah Archers (+500)
• Boston Cannons (+550)
• Philadelphia Waterdogs (+600)
• Maryland Whipsnakes (+700)
• New York Atlas (+800)
As you now know, your potential payout is based upon a $100 wager, so Utah would pay $500, Boston $550, and so on.
There are a number of different ways to wager on lacrosse, although which you consider to be the best lacrosse bets will be determined by your appetite for risk, your budget, and which bet type you find the most exciting.
Here’s an overview of some of the lacrosse bet types that you can normally place:
We’ve touched on it already, and moneyline betting is typically the most popular option in every sport.
The reason for that is its simplicity: All you’re looking for is the team you have backed to win the game. It doesn’t matter how they do it, as long as they get the win.
As you’ve learned, lacrosse moneylines are two-way markets featuring a favorite (negative odds line) and an underdog (positive odds line). In the rarest of cases, in games considered to be 50/50 contests between two very evenly matched, you may see both priced at -100.
The point spread essentially gives a hypothetical head start to the underdog, and places a handicap on the favorite. In lacrosse spread betting, your aim is to predict who will win with this revised scoreline in mind.
For example, here’s what a typical spread might look like:
• Buffalo -1.5 (+200)
• Albany +1.5 (-250)
In this scenario, 1.5 points would be subtracted from Buffalo’s final tally or added to Albany’s, depending on which wager you choose. This creates a hypothetical final score, against which spread bets are settled.
So, if the actual game finished 15-11 to Buffalo, spread bets on them would be a winner – subtract 1.5 from 15 and you get 13.5, which of course still beats Albany’s 11.
But if the game instead finished 12-11 to Buffalo, spread bets on Albany would be winners – add 1.5 to 11 and you get 12.5. So, the revised scoreline would be 12-12.5 in Albany’s favor.
In summary, Buffalo would need to win the contest by two or more points for -1.5 spread bets on them to be successful. For Albany +1.5 wagers, they can win the game, tie, or even lose by one point for their spread to be classed as the winner.
If you think a particular game will have plenty of points scored in it, or believe it will be a low-scoring affair, then you can back up your opinion in the total points market.
We offer a total points line for all the lacrosse games we cover, and 24.5 is one of the common ones of these.
Choosing this wager, if you believe that 25 or more points will be scored in the game, you would back the over. Otherwise, if you thought there would be 24 points or fewer scored, you might want to back the under.
A parlay bet lets you add two or more selections to a single ticket, with the aim of all of your picks winning. If all bets win, you will enjoy an enhanced payout, as the odds for each pick are multiplied together.
But the main risk of parlay betting is that it only takes one of your selections to lose for your entire ticket to be settled as a loss, so proceed with caution.
In lacrosse betting, it’s possible to create a parlay ticket using moneyline, spreads, and totals selections – or a mix of the three.
Field lacrosse is, like many outdoor sports, dependent on the weather.
And these conditions can have an impact on how a game plays out. Will bad weather close the gap between a favorite and the underdog? Will it impact the totals line?
Take some time to consider the conditions in the local area before betting – easily done by checking weather forecast websites and apps – to see how they might affect how the game is played.
Other logical lacrosse betting tips include doing your own research on the two teams involved; the league standings offer a glimpse of their relative abilities, but you should also consider their recent form and strength of schedule. This will add more context to your betting choices.
Some professional lacrosse leagues, as well as the NCAA, produce statistical updates for their teams and players. Be sure to analyze the offensive and defensive efficiency of the two teams in a game – this can be particularly useful when betting on the total points lines.
You can bet on a multitude of college sports in states where online sports betting is legal, and lacrosse is one of the most popular options.
The NCAA organizes a stacked program of college lacrosse, with dozens of teams battling it out for the national championship title.

Yes, you can. Premier League Lacrosse is just one of the competitions we offer odds for, alongside the likes of the National Lacrosse League and the NCAA.
You can wager on futures (the team you think will win the tournament), or bet on single games and choose from moneylines, spreads, totals, and much more.
One of the most popular lacrosse betting markets is the totals market, which is where you can try to predict how many points will be scored in a game.
We provide the baseline figure, and you decide if there will be more points scored (over) or fewer (under). This can reduce your betting risk slightly, as you don't have to predict who you think the winner of the game will be.
A parlay bet makes it possible to bring together two or more individual wagers onto a single ticket.
The advantage of doing this is that the odds of your picks are multiplied together, so you can potentially win more by parlaying them. However, only one of the picks needs to lose to render your entire ticket unsuccessful.
